About Laura

Hi, I’m Laura!

As a young child, Laura consumed books at the rate a squirrel gobbles up nuts. She fine-tuned her own storytelling abilities with Fisher-Price Little People (the ‘70s version) and Barbies, then began putting pencil to paper at the ripe old age of eight. She may still have a few of those tales tucked away, stories about magical sand castles and a talking, clothes-quick-changing frog.

A tender-hearted fan of the happily ever after, Laura continued penning stories through high school, when she set off for college with a dream of becoming a novelist. But life and the pesky need for a steady income intervened, and she followed the adjacent path of business writing and corporate communications instead.

Before returning to her passion for writing fiction, Laura has lived seasons of her life as an advertising/PR account executive, wedding and event planner, personal trainer, wedding blog ghost writer, home schooler, wedding planner trainer, and volunteer extraordinaire. These days, she focuses her efforts on writing inspirational fiction, with an emphasis on romantic suspense and contemporary romance.

Laura earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Texas (Hook ‘Em!). She won NaNoWriMo twice (2015 and 2018) and placed second in the Romantic Suspense category of the 2020 BRMCWC Foundations Awards. Laura is currently rewriting that manuscript with the goal of publication.

A Texas girl living in a Georgia world, Laura is an infrared fitness enthusiast, an ardent believer in the healing power of kitchen dance parties, and the gal you want on your team for pop culture trivia contests. An Enneagram 1 to the extreme, she spends her free time spinning plates as COO of her family, hanging out with her husband of 20+ years, cheering on their kids in sports, reading, and cooking healthy meals for her people (who eat like a pack of velociraptors).
